Default Need help bad! 4wd

Ok I'm having 4wd issues, yes I read the forum for it and it doesn't help me. When the truck is jacked up, with all 4 off the ground I put it in 4hi, the rear tires spin normally. But Only the front drivers one spins a little but but I can hold it from spinning even giving it a little gas. The front passenger doesn't move at all. Same goes for 4lo, even with vaccum lines pulled off the hubs. I need help asap! I use my truck like a truck should be and defiantly need my 4wd!

Are the halfshafts turning or are they stopped too? Would help as it'll tell if you stripped the teeth at the IWE's/halfshaft ends, or if it's your diff. Also, transfer case, is the shaft spinning from there to the front diff?

When I was under the truck I had someone in it turning 4wd on and off. With 4hi on the shaft from the transfer case will not spin, but the cv axles will. When it is in 2wd the shaft will spin but won't turn the front. And at one point I could Turn the drivers side tire and move that cv axle, but the passenger side one would only move a small but and stop.

It feels like the hubs are not locking. Actuators not ingaging is what I fell like if coulda been. But when I'm on regular ground I can tell I'm in 4lo but if the back end bogs down I have to be pulled out

Well, with the truck off (no vacuum at all - regardless of 4x4 or 4x2 mode), the hubs should be engaged by the springs... So you should not be able to hold the CV shaft and turn the tire (they should be connected - tire should turn the cv shaft and you can't fight it). If that's happening on both sides and your shaft from the transfer case isn't turning, you may have an issue in your differential itself. Make sure the other side tire isn't turning the opposite direction though or that could give you misleading results too. Have someone turn them together and make sure that transfer case shaft is spinning. When you shift into 4hi and the transfer case shaft won't spin, you know it's shifting at least so that should eliminate the transfer case + motor (although it should spin if the rear tires spin).

Also, should ask... do you have a lift? Just curious about the IWE's (someone else stripped theirs from a lift).

I found the problem, opened up the hub and discovered the actuator was stuck wouldn't move in or out, replaced it and the hub just because I had bought a new one already, works like a charm now.
