Need help
Hello I recently purchased a 2008 Ford F-150 STX it was somewhat dirty when I got it so my grandpa offered to detail it, I think he sprayed inside with the pressure washer since the floor is plastic and the water went underneath the passenger seat because when I took it for a drive every time I came to a stop I could hear water splash and move around underneath passenger seat, and days before it was detailed I didn’t hear anything I told my grandpa what had happened he said he would look at it and knowing my grandpa has some crazy ideas I was scared, he pulled the plastic floor underneath the passenger seat on the dashboard and the insulation stuff it had is a bit damp I told him and he said if there was water it would be sweating water under there and that there isn’t any he still doesn’t believe me there’s water underneath, later that day he said he was thinking of drilling 2 small holes on the side of the truck to drain the water I was like nooooo!! I did some searching and found que it could be a problem with the ac but I don’t think it is that I’m pretty sure it’s water he sprayed and it went underneath, any idea how to get it out ?
There is a channel (for a bunch of wires) in the bottom of the door frames - both sides). If you remove the kick panel and plastic trim on the bottom of the door frames, you probably have water accumulated in there. And you should get it out or it will cause weird electrical problems if it corrodes wiring connections.
Don't worry about A/C problems or your third brake light or anything else - you already know where the water came from. I've learned that water can get inside these cabs from any number of ways, but no matter how, it seems to end up in the same place. As F150 Torqued said, it's in the channels that contain the wiring harness.
I found it useful to get a body panel removal tool - I actually used a door panel popper which is easy to find at the neighborhood parts store. You'll be removing the plastic kick panel that tops the door jambs.
Start at one end and pop it up placing the tool near the attachment points (there's you tube videos if your not comfy, but, it's easy)
Once you get in there, a wet dry vac may be helpful but I found a sponge the most useful for removing the water.
Good luck

I had a water leak in my 2010 F150. I hired a firm called the "Water Doctor". They are franchised across the US. They found two leaks, the rear brake light on the cab, and the Sirius radio antenna.
