Default Need catalytic converters

Ok so I've been thinking and wanting to do an exhaust system on my truck since I bought it 4 years ago, I just never have wanted to spend the money on doing a full custom system. Well one of my cats is trash now and I have to replace it. My 2004 5.4 has 4 converters and I heard about guys removing the back two larger ones an not having any problems. I don't know if I can do this due to the fact I'm not sure which one is bad in my truck all I know is bank 2. Anyone know what my best options are if i need to buy a new one? Should I buy a direct fit replacement or spend just a little bit more and replace all of them with two magnoflos (or something similar) ?

Just pick up 2 hi-flow cats to replace your stockers.

Agreed. You can go with either Magnaflow or Random Tech. Personally I prefer the Random Tech over Magnaflow.

Yeah I was thinking replacing with two new universal cats would be the best thing but I just ordered some new wheels and tires yesterday so im gonna be strapped for cash so I may see if i can find some nice salvage ones through some buddies of mine (probably get them for next to nothing) until i can buy new ones

I do suspension, we don't do any exhaust at all. Plus I figured I would ask around and see what some other people have done and what works the best instead of just spending money on **** that I'm not sure will work correctly

Damn brother, that's a bit harsh, eh? You coming to tomorrow's meet? It's at the Langley Public House. I posted more details on it in the Canada forum.

Cool brother, I can ask you all about suspension stuff. Especially considering my rear leaf springs are toast. Anyhow, I can't help you with the exact model you will need but I think I can steer you in the right direction. Contact Stainless Works and ask them which Magnaflow catalytic converter they use for their headers on our trucks. I think there is a guy named Chris that is their customer service rep for Ford trucks.
