Default N-Fab mounting issues?

So I had my local 4 wheel parts store order a set of N-fab steps for my truck #F0480SC 04-08 crewcab 4 door short bed. I wanted the wheel to wheel steps but accidently order the cab length. Anyway when they came in I had the stop hold them up to the truck so I could see what they looked like being that they were the cab length and not the wheel to wheel like I wanted. It was at this time I noticed 2 of the 3 brackets used to bolt the step to the truck didn’t even match the OEM holes? I told the shop I didn't want them being that the holes didn’t line up and it was the wrong set. They were cool and gave me a refund.

So my question is has anyone had this same issue? I want to reorder the correct steps (wheel to wheel) but don’t want to have the same issue with the brackets not matching the OEM holes.

Thanks and sorry for the long story.

if the brackets did not line up was because you were holding the driver side bars on the passenger side or viceversa, it happened to me, once you get the wheel to wheel steps keep in mind that the curved end goes to front and the straight end goes to the rear.

LOL. We did try it on the other side and it still didn't line up.

Bolting up the wheel to wheel step should be straight forward. The step with the longer section of tubing behind it goes toward the rear and the shorter section goes towards the front.

Im debating weather I should try my luck again and order up the wheel to wheel. I have a 08 f150 fx4 crew cab 4 door 5.5 bed. The part number I've found is F0486SC. Can other crew cab 5.5 bed owners confirm that number for me?
