Mysterious Ghost Lights
I have an 05 screw and sometimes going down the road my dome lights and cargo lights will come on and I have to smack the dash above the instrument cluster to get them to go out. Any ideas? Thank you all the people who take time to read and help us out with these trucks.

Could be a short or faulty contact in your dimmer switch. You know, the one that when you turn it all the way up it clicks and the dome and cargo lights come on?

Use a hammer instead.
There's a relay that operates to have the dome lights come on after the vehicle is shut off for a short period of time. I suspect this relay is faulty.

Mine used to do that. My e-brake light also stayed on always. All the wiring goes through the dash cluster. I had to pull the dash cluster out and re-solder all the connections on it.
This thread is about the odometer being blacked out, but the principle is the same. Pull it apart, re-solder everything!

my mom owns an 03 Windstar and her interior lights do that sometimes. we figured out that it had to do with the position of the key in the ignition. if the key wasnt in all the way the lights would flicker randomly.
