Damn, good to know. I've been looking at '04-'05 FX4s. Test drove an '04 today that felt solid...just sounded like it could possibly have the cam phaser problem since there was a ticking in the lower rpm range.

im not so sure about that statements about the tranny's ive never really heard that many issues about them..... my tranny seems to be fine has 88000 miles on it, just keep it serviced it should be fine

I hope so, I havent heard too much either about them. I just left Dodge because of that very reason.

go take a look at the transmission section of the other forums.... and in addition, i can name off 8 people that i know personally (not on the forum) that have all had their transmission replaced or rebuilt within 15k miles of eachother.
dont get me wrong, i wish you the best, i would never hoep that on anyone, but it really is a major issue. its frequency will be increasing because it's about that time that the 04-08 will be reaching that mileage.

ive seen a few with problems, but i wouldnt call it a known issue.... all the fords i know that are running around are pushing 180000 miles and are still going, they didnt change the tranny's that much with 04-08 i dont think so it shouldnt mater the year...
