you technically dont need long tubes, unless thats the route you want to go. the long tube kit from obx comes with resonators, they look like cats, but are NOT. no reusing of the current system you have besides the header bolts/studs, gaskets and current cat back exhaust you have depending on mileage, rust, broken studs etc;

but seeing as you have the exhaust/muffler and no long tubes, all you need is long tubes, connect the muffler to the y pipe that comes with the kit and your pretty much set depending on how your tips exit right now with the muffler you have.

i would however advise to go true dual

14 mpg. to and from work only. Speed limit is 35. I was ecstatic! (it doesn't take much I guess) Bone stock with the exception of a new/clean drop in filter and tires inflated to 35lbs. Put a Chevron fuel system cleaner too. Calculated the old fashioned way. Can't wait to take it for a run on the highway. It got 17 before. I am guessing 18ish.

WOW! They must be hard as rocks up front
All I was indicating is that we can get decent mileage without mods. I am waiting for my powertrain warranty to expire before doing any mods. I have 11 month's to go. 13k, not going to exceed the 60k. Some mod's will help.

my tires must be throwing my lariat cluster WAY off. I got 255 miles trip. Thats pretty accurate as its 42 miles 1way to work. 3 days, 6 trips, 252. This was on 15 gallons (i filled up w/ 18, had '36 miles to empty' so ballparked I had 3 gallons left).

255mi/15g=17mpg

yet the cluster read 12.7. And I have never gotten it to read 17 even when I reset it going 50 on the freeway. But I'd have to say that by crunching the numbers myself, i'm pretty damn happy w/ 17, especially since i'm runnin 35x12.5 R20 A/T & a 4.30 R&P.

Is anyone else seeing a 4-5mpg difference when they crunch numbers opposed to the cluster doing the math?

Double checked the tire size?
Did you program in the 4.30 gear ratio?

They're pretty hard, but it's a solid ride, helps with mileage as well, especially on the highway.

Stock we get decent mileage. The money we pour into our trucks for power and mileage really isn't as cost effective in comparison to say a diesel truck, but we didn't pay the extra 7k price tag for a diesel now did we.

The mods i've done makes my truck unique to myself and is worth every penny, i would do it over again, but probably in a different order

Modding for MPG is kind of dumb on a truck... modding because you want to / like to. That is totally different

You mean tire size in the programmer? yea, think I did that. And the 4.30 is programmed into the SCT... know that for sure.

no idea then. i dont have the in gauge mpg feature...bummer really

but my gryphon is usually close, much closer than 4-5 mpg. and reads low...manually i get better numbers and everything is corrected and calculated properly.

just averaged 15.88 over a 389 mile trip with almost the last 100 miles being city driving. pretty good if you ask me
