I would love to meet Dog and his Wife. They are so cute together. They have been through so much together but yet they have stayed together.

I have actually been out there 4 times while I was stationed on my first ship. We did a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan). I took the time to actually go over to the Arizona Memorial, very moving experience to look down upon the ship and to think of all those men resting below the water. It is moments such as that that make me the proudest of what I do and of all the men and women that have gone before me.

wxmcpo, a good buddy of mine just left for Hawaii a couple of weeks ago to recruit for the Army. Name is Mike Karriker. We both started working at the plant @ about same time & we were both 18. Right around 9-11 he decides he wants to enlist if he can try for the Ranger program. He came back to work about 4yrs later after being one of the first to parachute into Afghanistan and later being right in the middle of the advance into Bahgdag. He came back home pretty highly decorated & joined the Guard right away. When he got called up again recently he only wanted to go back if it was with his Ranger outfit that he was so close with. He was told no but another option was to take the job in Hawaii & he could take his wife and two baby girls with so he jumped all over that deal. Long story, just thought I'd share it.

Did your buddy ship a vehicle over there?

I checked the status of my truck and it said that it was in ocean transit and was enroute. So much for it being there when I get ther tomorrow night and being able to pick it up on Friday. Still hoping it gets there before the weekend, but looking more like Tuesday as originally promised.
