Hey fellas,
My dad thinks he just blew the motor on his 2004 Fx4. I am trying to figure out what he best course of action is. What are you guys' suggestions for a new motor? He is looking at crate motors but I am not sure what the best crate to go with is as fa as price, performance, and ease of swap. Thanks for all your time.

I guess it depends on his goals. Stock of course would be easiest, but maybe he wants more power.

I would also suggest that he first determine how he blew his motor to ensure he doesn't blow the replacement also. For example, if the truck has a cooling system issue just replacing the motor will not solve the problem.
