Default MBRP and Flowmaster setups

For the people who have a dual exhaust kit from MBRP or Flowmaster, I need to ask something. Can you install the 3 inch performance catback exhaust system on a stock exhaust system? Because I know that the 04-08 exhaust pipes are 2.5 inches in diameter. But all these catback systems I see online are 3 inch systems. Do the MBRP and/or Flowmaster dual 3 inch exhausts have an adapter or smaller inlet to slide over the stock 2.5 inch pipe to a 3 inch pipe? Pretty confused, finally going to get a nice exhaust but now this little dilemma has me asking.
Thanks

Something in my memory says it is 3" at the cat..... But, if they are making a kit, I'm sure it's bolt up with no additional adapters. My Banks Monster kit is 3" and I didn't change anything.

Mbrp reduces down to 2.5'' at the very end and slides over old exhaust once you remove the stock catback.
