That's an amazing looking truck! Alright, I decided to get a 2.5 inch leveling kit. Anyone have a preferred brand? If so, why that brand? And also what's a good 305/70/17 tire? I was looking at Goodyear Wranglers but is there a better (( More aggressive looking tire )) with out costing a lot?

man your lucky. my fx4 came with 18 inch rims. i tryed to drop down to 17s but they wouldnt fit. i wanted the 17s cuz i was gunna go with a 315 70 17 bfg a/t. there a very common tire. the h2 hummers come from the factory with they on it. and a while back 4 wheel parts was running a speacil on them. there not quit a 35 there like a 34.4 . so that way u dont have to worry about rubbing. my 35s only rubed just slightly at full turn when they where brand new but now that i have 3000 miles on they theres none at all.

Most guys around here are using Leveling kit by AS. I got mine off ebay for $69 (HBS) and installed it myself. Front end alignment was $39. The kind of tire you choose will certainly depend on your wallet. But the 17's are a tad bit cheaper than 18's. Just remember, get what you want or you will regret it later.

Hello everyone, I'm replacing my tires next month and I was hoping to upgrade with bigger tires. Does anyone know what size tire is the maxium you can fit on a 2004 F150 FX4 without the rubing? I currently have 265/70/17 and was hoping that maybe I could fit 305/70/17 but believe it may need a lift kit.

Did you upgrade your tire Size....
I got a 3" leveling kit fairly cheap for mine... Installed myself with help of a friend Nothing to complicated.... I got 285/70R17 With lots of room to play with for bigger tires.... If you didnt get a leveling kit I would get Narrow Tires wouldnt rub while turning.... 265= 10.4" wide And Get Higher NUmber Of % to bring the tire taller in size
Example 265/80/17 you got same size for the width... but give you 34" tall.... stock is 255/70/17= 31x10" on 17" wheels If you get 18" its diffrent size your percent can go down with changing 265 in width...
keep me posted on what your doing Im in the process of upgrading tires again
