Matching Interior Paint
Looking for a source for matching interior paint colors. I tried a couple of searches here on the forum and on the internet and I'm not too satisfied with what I found, so thought I would ask the experts!
I bought a nice Edge CS and dash pod to hold it, but the pod was unpainted. I also have a pretty good paint scrape on the shifter area of the console, so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. Looked on the Ford website: nothing. Called my local Ford dealer and, after 5 rounds of "please hold" was eventually told that they don't sell interior paints. I was a bit cranky by then and asked the guy where to get them. He recommended Pep Boys. Talked to the Pep Boys 16 year-old paint expert who told me to take the caps off the various cans and hold them against the dash for color match.
I brought a female with me to help with the match and of course, none of them looked like a match.
Bought the closest we could find and painted the pod. It actually looked close in the garage, but when the sun hits it, the color is far from acceptable. At $7 bucks a can, I can afford to try several colors, but installing and uninstalling the pod is not something I want to do multiple times and I no guarantee that ANY of the colors are an actual match.
Hope you enjoyed the story.
I'm looking for the 2007 Lariat silver-ish-with-a-touch-of-bronze found on the upper dash.

This is the stuff I use. I first bought it to paint my Edge dash pod too and the color is spot on. Since then I've bought other colors for my interior and have been totally satisfied. After a few days of curing this stuff seems to become part of the piece that you've painted, very durable to say the least. It's a bit pricey, especially the shipping, but imho it's worth it. They also sell a cleaner that gets your parts good and clean before you paint them.
