Map light only operates with dome light?
Trying to sort the new-to-me truck. The map lights click on and off, but only when the dome light is illumunated. If the dome is off, the maps don't work. Any troubleshooting ideas? That can't be the way they are supposed to work, right?
Not orig setup, but think I might prefer that setup as you should get the warning chime if you leave on and remove key (ie prevent batt drain). If that is the only issue, I’d be happy and leave it.
Fuse 24 for the battery saver relay?
Does it have the vanity lights in the sun visors?
, they are powered by the same circuit.
Is it a standard cab, super cab or crew cab and does it have the roof rails? The only way I can see what you describe by looking at the wiring diagrams is if the rear switch is completing the circuits between the dome and map lights, otherwise the dome circuit shouldn't be able to power the map circuit.

Interesting, It's a super crew, just the plain front mini console. No lighted sun visors unfortunately. I forgot to check the fuse, I'll do that later. This truck is full of weirdness. It's been twice repo'd about 10 years apart. Both coat hooks are missing but the headliner seems to be intact but that's just plain weird and maybe points to something going on up there that is messing with a circuit? Many of the things that come out easily were gone when I got it - jack and tools, bed anchor hooks, door lock *****, the coat hooks.
