Can a MAF sensor be bad without throwing a code? I replaced all plugs and wires today. Unplugged IAC to test that and ran like crap so that works. Unplugged MAF and truck idled and ran great. Cleaned it with MAF cleaner and recharged my K&N while i had it torn apart. Plugged MAF back in and still idked like crap. Unplugged it again and waallaa it stopped idling rough again. In at a loss for ideas. Still have fuel filter to change but the idle is definitely attributed to the MAF being plugged in.

Filter simply lasts a long-long time. Take care of cleaning and coating it with the K&N treatment. Too much is a bad thing. The spary helps the filter do a better job. It's better to clean and treat it more often, every oil change, than to over treat it every 12,ooo miles. There are synthetic filters out there now. Airaid just for one. I'm not a big fan of CAI mods to simple everyday drivers. Better to just put a Magnaflo muffler on it. If you have trailer tow don't waiste you money on a lot of high dollar mods.

There's nothing wrong with a K&N filter. You just over oiled it. If it resulted in a change the second you put tin then you way over oiled it. Clean it and oil it just enough so that its an even pink color. Oil it lightly and allow it to sit for a half hour or so. The oil will travel throughout and the color will be fairly evenly dispersed. Maybe a few white areas that a small drop can be applied to and even out.
