Have to replace lower steering shaft column ford dealer says is reason for hard steering. Bought part myself. Thought I could do it. Findiing instructions is difficult. It looks as though the part i purchased from NAPA should fit. Not sure how new piece is supposed to fit in the rack. Any ideas would be helpful. My father-in-law are going to tackle it soon. With some PBR help.

Yes according to dealer the u-joint is bad so had to purchase new shaft right above rack
