lost my 4x4 high

I wish I had a video of when mine did it before I replaced it haha. It sounds like it might be but hard to say.
Both of mine went... With both gone, I had a CONSTANT grinding noise, didn't matter what speed from the drivers side. I replaced the drivers side but didn't replace the passenger side (as I didn't have a vacuum tester at the time). After doing that, all was fine... except when I went up hills (under load thus taking vacuum away) I'd get the occasional grinding again. Ended up being my passenger one was on it's way out too (vacuum tested it at this point) and under low vacuum it couldn't keep up and would force engagement.
If you want to know if it's your IWE in that case though, pull the vacuum line at the IWE solenoid under the hood then drive it. If it's gone, that's likely what it is (or some other low vacuum situation). At that point I'd test the IWE actuators individually with a vacuum pump to determine which side is going or if both. You can drive with the vacuum line off but you're locking your hubs of course, so you're spinning the front diff in 2WD when you don't need it (increasing wear a bit, lowering fuel mileage a bit).
Your 4WD should work fine as long as the spline doesn't grind away (I think mine did a bit - on the IWE actuator itself not the shaft).

So my problem is the vacuum pump hub actuators iwe solenoid and 1 check valve. My 4x4 high wouldn't disengage so been driving around in 4x4 this summer but suprisingly didn't damage anything. Dropped it off for warranty after the cost went over my deductable
