Lost 4x4

When I go into four wheel drive it seems like when ever I get on the gas that it comes out of gear and makes a weird whining noise. Any ideas? Hubs? Actuators?

So it snowed a little today and when ever I loose a little grip it clunks really hard. Would the iwe cause this?
