Default Looking to replace stock shocks 05 FX4

Well, my truck has finally hit over the 60,000 mile mark and I am pretty sure that my factory shocks are at their end of their life span. Can anyone recommend a good shock that they are running on their trucks? I do a lot of towing with my 24' enclosed car trailer. My truck is a 2005 F150 FX4 flare side extended cab, truck is totally stock except upgraded LT tires that are E load range instead of the factory optional C load range. I have heard good things about skyjacker shocks and have had trail master SSV's in the past and were not too impressed with the stiffness of the ride. I am looking for something that has a soft ride feel and will not rattle my teeth with every little bump I hit.

Thanks in advance.

Brian

I wouldn't be changing the shocks until one starts leaking then I would change them it pairs. If you do change them you cant beat Bilstien shocks, life time warranty also.

ive got a 2004 f150 fx4 and have replaced my shocks with the rancho 9000xl that can be adjusted. I love them. a bit expensive but they work great for me.

Just because a shock isnt leaking doesn't mean that it is worn out. Shocks generally last about 60,000 miles give or take. Worn out shocks can cause flat spots or high and low spots on tires since they are not keeping the tire in contact with the road at all times. Hence making the tire "skip" which causes the "flat" spots or high and lows on the tread patterns. Having replaced my tires in the beginning of the spring, I don't feel like destroying my $500 investment.
