The 3.7 paired with the six speed is a nice set up that's fuel efficient and has good power. My friends dad has one and pulls a 4000 pound trailer everyday for work with it and has no complaints. As far as seating room goes, I love the space in my 12's front seat space and the back is more roomier than my dad's 08 f150. Good luck

Ill agree. Drive to get what you want. Plus most chain dealerships will ship a vehicle close to you.

We are not set on anything except truck meeting needs that I stated already. So what my question is could anyone offer advise on what drivetrains/model/year would best suit my needs as well as are there any particular drivetrain/model/year that I should steer clear of regardless of the seemingly good deal
This is my rig. 2012 XLT with the XTR package. It's like an SUV without the permanent topper. It has the 5.0 with the 6 speed auto trans, and it is very good on fuel. Mind you, I drive very conservatively. It has the 5.5' box and the 145" wheelbase. Comfortable, easy to park. Great vehicle.

I have the super crew and the 6.5 ' box
it is more difficult to park at the mall but i use my box regularly and the 5.5' won't work for me at all, i know some guys with them and they hate the short box but to each their own. If you are camping alot won't you need the extra cargo room if the back seat is full of kids?

I can pack everything into the back of a mini van packed with kids so no I wont need the extra space in the box. really is the cab we are after a box of any size is just an added bonus really.
