Default Lines to hub actuators

Can any one out there please tell me if I am correct in thinking that the two lines to my actuators
1 larger of the two is the main actuating vacuum line.
2 smaller is just a vent line for the actuator.
is this correct I know the larger when vacuum is applied the locking ring retracts but what does the smaller line do. Thanks for any input.

Smaller is just a vent line that brings the vent up high to avoid water and crap getting in easily.

With heat comes pressure, the pressure and heat needs to be vented off.

Along these same lines, I'm pretty sure I need to replace my vacuum lines based on what I found inside the passenger side wheel well. I've been having a problem with noise coming from that side unless I engage 4wd. So I started trying to find the cause and noticed that this line seems to be split open. I'm guessing this line goes across to the left side IWE. My question is should I replace all the lines and, if so, is there an OEM set that I should buy or just figure out what what size this stuff is and go buy a bunch of it at the parts store?

The oem vacuum harness is about $30....better than messing with tubing.

Thanks. Is there a good online source for it, or just go through a dealer?

So I've temporarily mended the broken vacuum line with a connector and some heat shrink until I can get the whole harness replaced. Next question... how difficult is it to replace the whole harness? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm fairly mechanically inclined. I did manage to replace the plugs and coils (broke 4 of 8 plugs) a couple of weeks ago. So I'm trying to decide whether to undertake this myself. Advice?

Very simple job and a good DIY.

A little heat from a hair drier will help get the old lines off of the connectors if need be.

Just follow the old lines and put new in the same place.
