What is involved in upgrading the rear in my 04 5.7 to limited slip? Who makes the diff?

Don't bother with a factory (clutch type) limited slip, they wear out and don't always work correctly (require the slipping wheel to have SOME traction to put power to the other wheel). Go with a gear type limited slip, such as a Detroit Tru Trac, as it should last the life of the truck and it will transfer power more reliably. I went that route and love it, works beautifully and it's completely unnoticable until you need it.

Eaton owns Truetrack. Basically when enough torque is applied it turns both tires. There is a demo video on youtube. If both tires are in mud it will be 50/50 traction. If one wheel is in sand and one on ice it will be 75/25 split. You would be amazed at how well it works. I have one in the front end and it is awesome.
