Default lifting.

I'd like to start by saying I'm new to the truck world.. so sorry if these are dumb questions...

But I'm thinking about lifting my 07 4x4 F150. Orginially I was thinking about a 4" lift but after research I found out that a 6" is only 100-200 so it seems stupid not to go to a 6", however I think 6 might too to much for me, as the more i read you sort of need to do a lot to a truck to safely run a 6inch.

So my question is what about 3" lifts? I haven't seen too many companies who offer that, in fact only one. Skyjacker...

Does anyone have any experience with this kit? It kind of seems bare compared to other kits. But is that because it's such a small lift?

Sorry I know that's like 9 questions.. with no real direction.. but any words of advance would be nice.

Thanks

I put a 6" Fabtech lift on my screw, did not have to do anything extra to make it run safe.

Personally i would not go over 2" - 2.5" of lift with a leveling kit on a 4x4 to much cv angles

umm interesting point f150ads. thanks.

idk i really like the look for a 4" but I mentally i hate the idea that for only like $150 I could rock a 6". But I think 6" is too much for me... =/

So does anyone has experience with the 3" from skyjacker?

The skyjacker 3" is just a leveling shock kit with a rear add a leaf.

Rancho's quicklift, and Bilstien's 5100 leveling shocks will give you up to about 2"

If you want three inches and your shocks don't need to be replaced, just buy an Autospring or HBS leveling kit and rear blocks off ebay and save the money. The skyjacker lift will leave you with the same CV shaft and BJ angles as the leveling kits anyways.
