Default Lifting a 07 2x2 F150 adding larger tires?

I need some help----I am wanting to lift and put new wheels and tires on my sons 2007 F-150 XLT 2 x 2. My questions are?

1. Would a leveling kit be better than a 3" body lift? --Would it give me the lifted 4 wheel look that I am wanting? Would it perform better on the truck?

2. Looking to put 20'' 305 50/20 tires on to give it a beefy look---Is that a good choice.

Hopefully there are some experts out there that can help me out. Please offer better options if you have them. thanks----

So picture an F150 on a motorcycle frame? Suwanee Wolf I think you mean 2x4

If your looking for an offroad look why not go with both the leveling kit and the body lift. That would be cheap. Or spring for the extra money for suspension lift if u can afford it.

A leveling kit will only lift your front end up to be level with the rear, it will not give you that "lifted 4 wheel" look that you're looking for. A 3" body lift will be cheaper than a full suspension lift, but the install cost will run you $700-$1000 because these new body style trucks are so hard to install one on (at least that's what I've read form others on other F150 message boards).

Personally I'd just save for as long as it takes and get a full suspension lift and your new wheels. Although with the size tire you're looking to put on your truck you really don't need anything more than a leveling kit. With a full suspension lift you can fit 35's under there.

you are correct on the install price. i have looked localing for a body lift to go with suspension lift and spacers for a pretty large lift but the body lift is $500 in parts and $750-$1000 for the install because they said it would take at least 10 hours of labor. so im forced to go with just a lift and spacers.

anyways, if your going to be spending almost $1500 on a body lift and then about $200 for a leveling kit (with install) your at $1700. if you dont do the leveling kit with the body lift, the front end will sit lower then the rear because a body lift doesnt correct this. localy, i can get a 6" fabtech lift installed for $1800. its a no brainer which is the better choice.

Yep ---4x2 is what I meant---I can get a 3" body lift for $740 Installed----Probadly looking at 305/75/20 tires or somthing close to that. Will the 3'' body lift be safe as far as changing the center of gravity?

If I don't get the lifted look, I feel I am just wasting the money on a leveling kit. Your thougts

You actually found a place that will install a 3" body lift for $740? Is that the install price alone or does that include the body lift kit as well? I would make sure that's not just the labor cost.

The body lift will be fine, not my cup of tea, but it won't change your center of gravity enough to matter. If you go with the body lift just make sure you also throw some gap guards on there. Also make sure to get your bumpers and exhaust lifted as well.

Thanks wxmcpo----Yes---The $740 price is the Lift kit $340.00 and the labor $400.00---The truck is a 07 4x2 Super crew (4 door)---I thought about the suspension kit but this is strickly for looks--No performance involved---Just thinking that the body lift would be cheapest --best option to get the off road look---with out breaking the bank---Would a leveling kit be necessary witht he body lift.

To SW - You souldn't need a leveling kit in addition to the body lift in order to fit the tires you're wanting. You only need a leveling kit or the body lift to fit the tires you're looking at.

To 13 - Just take your truck into any muffler shop and they can lift it for you.
