Default Leveling kits for 2wds

I am looking to purchase a leveling kit for my 2006 f150 xl single cab long box with the 4.2l v6. Any suggestions on what leveling kit would be best for my truck?

Thanks in advance

For my first f150, 05 5.4 2wd extended cab, I went with the Rough Country 2.5 inch level and loved it. Can't compare it to other brands because I haven't tried, but my ride was smooth as stock almost. You can get it online for under $100.

All leveling kits which use a strut spacer are the same, just a basic spacer on top of your strut assembly. If you want a "better" ride than grab a set of bilstiens leveling struts, you can adjust ride height with them, BUT they are more expensive and you need a coil compressor to install.

if your gonna machine your own, than you need to pull off your strut assemblies so you can line up the holes, and grab some studs to press in so you can bolt it back up.

I have a 2.5" Hell Bent Steel spacer on my 07 XLT. If you buy one I recommend a metal one, I've read the polyurethane spacers can compress over time.

If you machine one yourself know a 2" spacer isn't actually 2" tall. The spacers change the angle so they are not actually the same height they lift the truck. My 2.5" spacer is actually 1.625".

I would also recommend not going taller than 2.5" of lift.

eej711, I couldn't have said it any better. That was a good catch.
