Default Leveling Kit Questions

Looking to get a leveling kit for my 06 XLT Scab but had a few questions about effects it will have on the towing capacity? I tow a 6x12 enclosed trailer for my business and wasnt sure how the kit will affect it? There are so many kits out there and cost really isnt an issue just want to make sure I am putting quality parts on the truck! What is the best kit to get for the money? Thanks in advance!

I went with a 2" autosprings kit and am very happy with it. It has a built in offset so at full droop the upper control arm doesn't contact the spring. Towing wise I didn't notice any difference. If you have a lot of tongue weight you will be nose high. Air bags or add a leaf can fix that if it bothers you. Most kits out there are good and reasonably priced. HBS is another common quality kit.

Hell Bent Steel makes great cheap kits. Easy to install, haven't heard a bad thing about them. I love mine

On my 06 the two inch kit brought it level measured from top of tire to wheelwell. I have autospring and am happy with it. They even have 1.5 inch kits if you want to leave a little rake for towing. I added airbags as I towed my camper and hauled an atv and dirtbike in the bed.

I have the 3" HBS kit on my 06 4x4. Have been towing nearly every day with the truck for almost 5 years, over 3 of which I have had the leveling kit for. No problems at all, definitely recommend air bags to go along with it though. Started off towing a 6x12 like you, then went to an 8.5x20. Both enclosed cargo trailers pulled 5 days a week. If you don't get the bags, you'll end up sagging the rear end and eating up the outside edge of your front tires. Good luck and stay safe.

I support the 2" autospring. I have a 2006 xlt scab with 6.5' bed. I measured multiple times before the install and it showed I needed a 2.5 but I did 2" because I DID NOT want to be nose high. It turns out that 2" put mine at a perfect level.
