i talked to the a guy at the 4x4 place here in louisville and asked him if they had any leveling kits for my 2wd 2000 lariat and he said a 2" trailmaster kit and he quoted me at just over $400 not including taxes and that includes the kit, install, and alignment. is that too much or a good deal. i thought i would ask yall b/c i know some of yall have leveling kits on yalls trucks. i know some of yall have done it yourselves but those of you who paid to have it done is that around the same price.

the guy at the shop said......$99.99 for kit.......$225.99 for install........$75.00 for alignment

i would greatly apperciate anything about this...........

P.S...... i'am aware that this is the 04 and newer section but the boys over in 97-03 tend to be shy at times and i no alot of yall have leveling kits so thats why iam asking you guys

 

i paid about 450 w/o the alignment . i knew it was a lot to ask for but i live in a small town and its really the only truck accessory shop around here and i didnt have the tools to put it on myself. the kit was 200 and labor was about the same as yours. he said i'd be fine without an alignment though

 

how does your truck ride with the leveling kit. is it the same or more of a rough ride

 

Mine was $300 taxes and all, I thought it was expensive at the time but now I realize it was a good deal. Have you thought about tightening the torsion bars? I know alot of guys do that to their Z71s and it costs half as much as a leveling kit. o4s and up don't have torsion bars just springs so I couldn't do that to mine, but I dunno about your model year, it would save you some money if it works out though.

 

mine is a 2000 and a 2wd, so no torsion bars. i have heard many times that doing that makes the truck ride really rough.......and yeah that seems like a more reasonable price.

 

i dont really notice anything different. it still rides the same. ill prolly get an alignment later on just cause though.
