It is very easy to install and for the most part can be put on in less than an hour. I did however have to cut my factory bed liner a little so that I could run the drain tubes behind the liner. Not a major problem at all but if you have a factory bed liner you may have to modify it.
I have had it for a month or so and living in the Seattle area it gets tested daily on keeping the bed dry and so far I have had no problems with it.

If your going to run larger tires then you could stock, and you run lift shocks to do it. What happens if you blow a shock. Your truck will be stuck in place until you replace that shock or change that tire to a smaller one. With the leveling kit you would be able to limp home and work on it there.

I think the leveling kit is the cheeper option. Most people are finding the kits for $69 which is relatively inexpenisve. By just intalling the leveling kit you are also keeping the factory ride and performance so that might also be a reason. I don't know anyone personally with the Bilstein 5100's maybe they will chim in and explain why they went with that option instead. My 2" levleing kit leveled my truck perfectly with the back so it accomplished the look I was going for.

HBS 3" Leveling Kit
I ordered a 3" leveling kit from Hellbentsteel.com for 69.00, Best choice i ever made. only took me 45min to install with an air compressor w/ impact wrench and respectable sockets, Craftsman wrenches, and a breaker bar. Good cheap investment which makes your truck a better truck. Put 35" tires on no problem. No rubbing at all.
