leveling kit installation

Default leveling kit installation

i was looking to buy a front leveling kit for my truck,just wondering if anyone has installed them before and how hard it is to install,i saw some that said no spring compressor required but still not sure on the difficulty to install

i just got mine and it says you dont need one either,but i talked to several techs and they said it can be done without one but is alot easyer with one.and some speed shops rent them out.

Your spring compressor is your floor jack. I have changed out rear coil springs on cars. You put the vehicle up on jackstands and use the floor jack to raise the axle, thereby compressing the spring. You remove the shock and sway bar and slowly, and I mean slowly, lower the jack until the spring falls out. Installation is the reverse.

Just did mine about a month ago 3" on 2004 FX4 and used a spring compressor to make the job a lot easier. I think it is worth renting a set, it is better to have em and not need em.....

I did the 2.5 inch myself with no spring compressor. It took me about 40 to 45 min on the first side I done then when i got to the other side it only took me like 25 min., is actually a e-z mod to do yourself
