Cool leveling kit

I just installed nitto trail grapplers 295/70-17. I went to get a wheel alignment and they told me that I need to get my lower control arms long gated for the aliment. What is this there talking about and should I install my level kit before doing this?

i think he must said "control arms elongated" .... (To adjust front caster, it is necessary to elongate the mounting holes in the front control arm mounting bracket on the subframe.)

here is some explanation about it: http://www.brakeandfrontend.com/Arti...lignment_.aspx
but im not sure that you need that for that kind of tires. maybe the tires are not the stock size? i think they are +1
if so, maybe they cant align the truck properly without elongate the wholes in the control arms.

I don't know a lot about leveling kits, but from my research I haven't heard this....I'm sure there are many others that can give you a better answer. I'm just this close <---> to puttin on my Bilstien set-up and haven't heard of that....it may be different for LKs though...

I put a 3 inch level kit on my truck and had no trouble getting it lined up. In fact, the shop barely had to do anything to get it back to spec. As I recall only 1 of the many factors to proper alignment was "out" and is was barley out of adjustment. I installed the leveling kit myself and I'm not a mechanic so I'm thinking you should talk to another shop that does a lot of leveled or lifted trucks.

I just had a two inch leveling kit and almost the same tires put on my truck, no problems having it aligned at all....if you are going to put a leveling kit on it anyways do that first and then do the alignment...it will have to be aligned after the leveling kit anyways....maybe take it to a shop that deals with trucks, lifted trrucks in particular...
