Default Leveled Tire and Rim Decision

I have done a lot of research on trying to figure out exactly what size tires and rims to put on after my Daystar 2.5 level kit is put on my 08' F150 King Ranch 4x4. This site had helped a LOT as far as info and pictures. As of now, my sights are on member PawPaw's setup. I absolutley love the look and it is about as proportional as you get. I like the slightly wider stance and want around a 34" tire. I do mostly freeway driving with the occasional offroad (Beach/Mud) when I go Fishing or Surfing. My concerns right now are getting the slightly wider stance I want with a 34" tire on without rubbing. I don't want to have to cut anything if I can avoid it. I've narrowed the rims down to AR Craters (17x9 w/ 5" BS) that PawPaw has or Pro Comp Series 6079 (17x9 w/ 4.75" BS). The tire sizes i'm looking for are 295/70R17 and preferrably 305/70R17. What would you guys suggest?

A side note: Why is it that some trucks look front end disproportional than others with the same 2.5 level and same size tires?

All feedback is appreciated
