Let's hear some good stuff.
Sometimes we all get a bit depressed when we read all the stories on here about all the problems folks have with their trucks. Now, yes of course the point of the forum is largely to help each other out with the problems we run into, but let's change it up for one topic and post good stories, pics, ect. about WHY we continue to drive these trucks, and why others shouldn't get discouraged by reading the not-so-happy posts!
I'll start: Had an 05 lariat, it drove and rode nicely, but at the time I really just couldn't afford it.....so I bought a little dinky Malibu(don't laugh) and was miserable. I have horses.....the Malibu wasn't much use at tractor supply for feed and shavings. SO I just got, about a month ago, an 08 supercrew FX4 with 97k miles. It has 98,500 now, and will soon be getting a good 100k service(plugs ect.) and so far I love it. Sadly I am the 4th owner, so it has been passed around like an orphan, but I hope to keep it awhile. It was repoed from owner 1, owner 2 got it right when gas went through the roof and I think that's why it wasn't kept, owner 3 was a lady who was going through a divorce and couldn't afford it. So it comes to me!
The point, I have the "treacherous" 5.4 3v flex fuel, and am TICKLED with it. It drives nice, has good power, and hopefully will last me another 100k!

I'm sorry, but I have to complain about my truck.
When I had my Jeep, whenever my wife wanted me to remodel or perform major repairs to the house, I was able to get out of it, for the most part, because I wasn't able to carry things like sheetrock and luan. Now, however, every single weekend I am hard at work. In fact, I look forward to Monday so I can go to work to rest! So far I have remodeled the kitchen, the dining room, the family room, and the back porch! I have gutted two bathrooms upstairs and will be making them into one large one. Already, she has me getting supplies to turn the basement into a rec room! This truck has destroyed my weekends full of laying around watching TV. Now, at the drop of a hat, we are off to Lowe's for project supplies.
It may be too late for me, but the rest of you guys take warning, trade your big 'ol hard workin' truck in on a nice Prius now, while you still can!

2 years and 20000 miles without issue. Too much money spent from being on forums like this recommending mods. Actually trying to sell for $20,000 if anyone is interested. Books over that without the extras. Looking to downsize payments.
I just bought my 04 FX4 this week and love it! It's only got 45,000 miles so I plan on keeping it for a very long time. I've had bad luck with my last truck being a Dodge dakota the oil pump went out at 75,000 miles which after some brief searching this is common for that year/model wtf Dodge? lol. Anyways I look forward to doing some light mods and enjoying this truck for many years. Plus my daughter (2 yrs old) loves it =)

09 XLT SCAB with 51k miles and no issues other than having to buy gas once a week, I got rid of my 97 Ranger with 300k miles, which is why I stayed with Ford. I enjoy the weekend projects because it gives me an excuse to cruise around in my truck, plus there are always good looking ladies shopping at Lowes.
