I wouldn't put them in my headlight housings.. Probably won't be able to see very well in the rain..

Pictured are my 35 watt Cree led's from amazon.. The headlights would require a side fire bulb to work well, but they will likely be terrible in the rain..
I'm not complaining about fog light led's here, just saying that for headlights, the technology still has a little ways to go.. I'm still running a 3 year old set of hella halogens in my heads for safety reasons.. They have dimmed a bit from their former white light appearance.
Are your fog lights the actual kit with ballests....or just the bulb? I did get the led bulb as well for the fogs but was not impressed and put my hid's back in the fogs. As for in the rain, we dont get much heavy rain here in san diego, but did have some preety heavy rains (for here) and at night driving in heavy rain they were great. I really have no complaints about the headlight kit

I got just the bulb with no ballast.. Pair of 9145 9005 Projection Super Bright 30w 6000k White Fog DRL Light New 2014 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N6D7K38..._rMr0ub06W6DE8

They don't suck, but they are not throwing useful light much further than 30 feet.. This is why they are great for fogs..

If I ran an led in the headlights it would be and 80 watt side fire Cree bulb with ballasts to help them burn bright..

I might still try led's with something like these in the heads: SkaDirect LED Headlight Conversion Kit- All Bulb Sizes - 80W 6400LM Cree LED - Replaces Halogen & HID Bulbs - White (H13 (9008) Dual-beam LED) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PVDAIBM..._8Pr0ub0ETC5NB

But if you check the reviews, and you take notice to the shape of our headlights reflector bowl, you can see that led's are not great at shining long range....

I agree they dont shine as far as hid, but what i use them for their great and they definitely shine way furtger than stock halogens. From my experience with led, the only time ive gone fast enough to outdrive my lighting is off road in the desert. Thats where hid's on the roof and leds at the grill work perfect together haha

Can you post some pics and do you need any type of wire harness like you do with HIDs?

Yes ill get some pics tonite and post them for you, the kit i got comes plug and play like an hid kit does. Ballests are smaller than hid, i double sided them straight to the light housing and the mini fans are built right into the led housing itself.
