Leaky Injector Update/confirmation
Ok, so I drove my truck 100 miles yesterday and after parking it I went to restart it 20 min later and a puff of white smoke came out of my exhaust. I did'nt smell it but it caught my attention. So............ I pulled my fuel rail again and this time after cycling the key and leaving it in the on position several times I was able to reach under each injector with bare hands and felt and saw gas from 2 injectors on drivers side. Not alot but got my finger wet each time I felt them as if they are "bleeding" This is'nt normal right? I should'nt feel any gas no matter how small the amount. I did'nt even get to the passenger side yet. I called Rock Auto where I bought these refurbished and they will replace the same kind only. Heres my questions and dilema. Do I just get all new ones and be done with it and if so what kind? I don't want to spend a small fortune. Did this foul my plugs and do I need to replace them and could it have possibly ruined my newer cats. Now Im leary about refurbished injectors because all that means is cleaning, some new parts and flow testing. These things might have even come off of an 05, who knows. I just don't want to be smelling around and pulling my fuel rail all winter. All of this because of a warm start issue I've had for months. I know I sound like a big baby crying the blues but at least I know have some direction. Oppinions always welcome. Thanks. Its a few hours later and I pulled the passenger side and I think Im more confused now than before because every injector on the pass side seemed to have some amount of gas when I touch the bottoms with the system pressurized. They can't all be leaking. Maybe what Im feeling is normal and considered residue although its there each time I feel each injector. Too frustrated to think about this anymore
