Default Leaf Springs- Does anyone know?

I want to lower the rear of my 08 f150 about 2 inches so that it is closer to being level with the front. I am not hauling anything substantially heavy and I was looking to get some advice on potentially pulling out the helper springs. Has anyone tried this, or does anyone know whether or not this would work?

This is what it looks like now...

Thought I saw a thread about this in the how-to section? Maybe not by removing springs, they may have used blocks.

If I was you, I'd just buy the lowering shackles and call it a day. I guess one could arguee that you are just compressing the springs anyway, so why not just remove them. However, I'd feel better with them there.

Thanks for the help. I have been looking at two different ones. One is by ground force and the other one is by ford racing. To me they look exactly the same, does anyone think that one is better than the other? Or does anyone have other recommendations?

i put the Rough Country lowering shackles on the rear of my 07 Lariet. Still left the rear about 1/4" higher but without measuring you can not tell it. Was very easy to install and no difference noticed over OEM.
