Default Leaf Spring - sag

2008 F150 5.4 - 4x4 - 6-1/2" BOX, stock.
-----------------------------------------------

So I use my truck for personal, some home reno and to haul bikes, do motorcycle work in my spare time to help my buddies out.

Anyways, had to pick up a bike in the Downtown core - broke a leaf spring, so got a local shop to replace the broken leaf and replace it on the other side. (BROKE MIDDLE LEAF)

I usually do not load more than 450-620lb bikes into my bed. I have to move two bikes....combined weight is about 840-880lbs with my ramps, bed extender, tools etc.

When I was inspecting the leaf springs (been about 8months) there does not seem to be a gap? Is this normal ?? or are the leafs the shop installed sagging ?

The centre leaf was cracked on one side, and broke on the other side. I had about a 550lb bike in the back, and prob hit a nice size pot hole last year to break it off.

I live in the rust belt, so it doesn't help. Its been a mild winter...so its been cold/warm - so that didn't help.

Truck's been Krown'd every year, prob the most rust free 08 you can find up here. The brown is just dirt / grit that needs to be washed away.

Not related to the sag but many leafs break not due to being overweight but being underweight. They are made to carry significantly more then an unloaded truck. Due to this the flew very little unloaded when hitting small bumps. Instead they are shocked by the impact and this creates cracks. Guys that buy 3/4 or 1 ton trucks to look cool go through this a lot as the shock issue is much worse.
