very interesting. subscribed. best bet would probably be a tune from *insert your favorite brand* but i wonder what Ford OEM has to offer?

The best is a custom tune for your mods and your truck. No OEM tune is going to be able to account for intakes and such. Even if you were stock the best OEM tune is still a compromise. Since our trucks are driven by different people with different needs, ranging from little old Grandmothers driving to the store for groceries, to wild young guys driving off road races, the tune is a compromise. It's been set up to "work" in all these situations, but it is not "specialized".

lol sorry fellas, but i guess i shoulda been more specific. I understand all the benefits and drawbacks of oem, custom, and canned tunes. I ran an edge evo before i sold it cuz i thought i was gettin a diesel. now im stuck without a tuner. thats ok, im gonna save up for a gryphon or a SoCal tuner that will work well with my k&n intake and exhaust and can push my heavy 35s

what i was referring to was how the factory comes out with pcm updates and whatnot for our trucks. usually theres a couple out for each vehicle. I cant remember the code numbers for this....i wish there was a way for me to find out the current pcm program without the dealership charging me 100 bucks...
