Default Lariat super cab bed options

Hey guys, I can't seem to locate clear information on this and was wondering if anyone knew. I have a 2005 lariat super cab 5.5 ft bed on the truck currently, would an 8ft bed drop in without modification? Thanks!

I'm only 18 but I've looked into that for a quick minute when I first got my 6.5 bed and it would work out without a lot of modifications. I wanna get some answers from guys with more knowledge then me ya know?

Well.. You'd need a different frame longer drive shaft longer wiring etc...

FWIW the Ex cab lariat has never had an option for an 8 foot bed. So if you want the 8 foot bed, the extended cab, and the lariat...have one of those truck stretch places do it. Or jump up to a Super Duty and you can have those three things together.
