Default Lariat question

Hey guys just curious about something. I have a 2008 f150 lariat and a friend of mine has a 2007 lariat. My shifter is by the steering wheel and his is down by his right leg. I thought the one by the leg was only in the fx4 model. Mine has bench seating, could that be why mine is by the steering wheel?

Thanks.

That would be it. The center console is an option in the Lariat as opposed to standard in the FX4s

Lariat came standard with the console shift, you had to opt for the column shift.

Well I may be wrong, I just checked a few sites and they all list the standard front seat config as being power 40/20/40 bench seating which would mean column shift. I was told by the dealer that the console shift was standard. Who do you believe these days. lol

Haha well at least we both agree that you could choose between bench and console seating so we answered the OP's question
