Is it an XLT or a Lariat? One has 17" wheels while the other has 18" wheels.
Stock height, I believe 265/70 will be the biggest. Leveled up 2", most run 285/70 with some managing 305s.
Gear ratio is also gonna be a big factor here. From personal experience... the 285s turned my truck into a slug (had an 05 SCAB w/4.6 - 3.55 Open diff). I should have geared, but I was cheap. Truck was alright-ish if you didn't have to tow anything. Couldn't get out of its own way if it had to.

I have 295/70/17's on my 2005 2wd with a 2.5 level. There is MINIMAL rubbing at full lock in reverse on the front of the lower control arm. Also totally in agreement with the gear ratio/power statement. I have the 5.4 with 3.73 and the difference even between 285/70/17 and 295/70/17 is pretty noticeable; to the point I may go back down to 285 when it is time to change.
