There is no code behind the seat only a felt cover so don't tear your truck apart. I should know, I work on the line and on the seats. There is a master code for each computer so someone cant just reset your pad to open your truck. I would call some salvage yards for the part. You are going to have to get pretty far into the door to change the handle. There is also a plastic seal over the metal that may need to be reglued if removed. Cant say if it will work, I wouldn't put it past ford to disable the feature in the computer.

This was my post when I did mine https://www.f150forum.com/showthread...ghlight=keypad . If you don't have a keypad I am not sure how it works but I know it can be done.

Is there a website that I can order the built in keypad. Right now I used the battery powered one which last about 2 years, but I'd rather have the built in one. That's funny that it comes prewired because if you ask ford( and I know I shouldn't trust the dealer) they said it doesn't. So anyways is there a place I can order one?

Default keypad - where to buy

I tried junk yards but none of them wanted to part with the keypad. So, I picked up the key pad (called actuator at the dealership) for $62 and then went to CARQUEST to purchase a Dorman door handle for $25 vs $60 at the dealership. The install took a while the first time, but now that I know what I'm doing I could do it in half the time.
