Default Keyless entry and remote start

I just bought my 06 stx scab with no power accessories and I want to put in keyless entry and remote start together. Any suggestions?? And if anyone has done this how much did it cost you?

Yeah, manual locks are a pain when other people are getting in and out of the truck, and i thought I might put a remote start in at the same time since they will go on the same key fob (if it's not too much more). And you can def put the windows in too but that will be my next project.

I did the exact same thing in the ford ranger I had before my f150. Also added power locks and windows to the '66 mustang my dad and I restored a few years ago.

On my ranger I used a generic keyless entry module with remote start. I think I paid about 50 bucks for it on eBay. I picked up a couple power door lock actuators for a couple bucks a piece from eBay also. It's just a matter of mounting the actuators in a position so they can fully move the lock up and down, really wasn't hard at all, just took a little "engineering". As for wiring I just took the output wire from the keyless entry module ( would normally run to the factory power locks) and fed power to the new door actuators. The remote start was just a matter of following the instructions in the kit to connect the right wires to the wiring harness in the steering column.

On the mustang I was able to find a power window kit, it was pretty much a whole new window mechanism that included the motors switches and all. There are also generic kits out there designed to spin the existing manual window arm. I choose not to do windows in my ranger because it was more work than I wanted to put into it. Locks on the mustang were just like my truck.

I highly suggest at least adding power locks/keyless entry it was well worth it when I did it, especially since it can be done for about $75. (2 doors)

Let me know if you have any questions I'll try to help you out if I can.

My STX started life without power anything. I added power locks/mirrors/windows.. I used OE door panels and widows and mirrors.. the locks are aftermarket parts. But everything is custom wired.

I also would like to get keyless entry. But it sure is nice not to have to lay over the seat to unlock or roll down that other door...
