Default Keyless Entry Door Handle Help

Ive heard it is possible to install a new drivers door handle with the keypad on it on my 2005 F150. Wondering if anyone has done it or has any info if it really works? I do have a key fob to unlock/lock but would like to have the keypad on the door handle too since the GF like to lock keys in vehicles . Thanks

Search for this on Amazon: Ford 7L2Z-14A626-BA Keyless Entry Keypad . Just added one to my daughter's Fusion. Now she has keypad entry. Easy day.

I'm guessing that your 2005 F150 may not have had it before, and may not be wired for it, so be prepared to have to run a power wire inside the door to power the keypad/solenoid. Ground can be any nut/bolt within the door. but unless you have something in the door that works on battery (without the key having to be on first, like power windows), then you'll need to provide this power lead yourself.

Many F150 models did not come pre-wired for all these fancy accessories; my 2005 and 2007 STX did not, but I've since then added my own power door locks and power windows. Just took me having to wire in the power to the doors.

I would imagine it has not. Ill have to look into it. Running a power wire sounds like something i could do. Thanks!

Keypad I linked is peel-n-stick. Imbedded battery, so no power wire needed. Programs just like an existing keyless entry fob. If you don't have keyless entry, then this won't work. Sorry.

Yep, I looked at my factory wiring manual on this last night, and it connects to the security module. If you don't have keyless programmed into the security module, it won't be a simple swap.

Oh alright. Good idea but i would like to have the whole door handle with keypad in it for more of a stock look.

I know how you feel. Also, consider this. Since it's peel-n-stick, you can pretty much put it anywhere. I've seen some people stick them inside fuel doors, on trunks/tailgates. I saw an F250 that had one on the passenger door, so that you can access it without having to unlock through the drivers door. Lots of options.
