I bought a used OEM door handle off ebay for $25. I installed it and got the code from behind the seat. I then tried the handle and I figured it would not work because I have read that an 2004 and 2005 were not preprogmed to work from the factory. After reading threads on this site many people said to take it to a dealer and they can program it to work no problem. But yesturday I went to my dealer and after 30 mins he said that since the truck did not come with the handle originally that the parts needed for it to work are not there. So I guess I'm asking does the service man not know what he is talking about or have I been misreading information here?

I have an 05 xlt that didn't have the handle from factory and I added the keyless, it worked just fine. The ford techs at my local dealership said it won't work because the wiring isn't there, but it was there and it was plug and play.
