Default K&N Fuel Filter

Called Advanced Auto Parts today to see if they had the Fram or WIX Fuel Filter in stock and he said they had a K&N too, anyone use a K&N? I used the search function, but came up with nothing but air filters.

Wasn't it mentioned in another thread that K&N oil filters were not recommended. Infraction if I remember right there were pics showing that one side of the engine wasn't getting enough oil worsening the can phaser issue.
