Default K&N CAI help

so i just install the K&N CAI on my 2008 5.4 lariat and its not shifting until it gets up to like 4500 RPM and its making a weird noise when i go fast like on the freeway


i have it installed right, idk is there something i missed? do i need to reset anything? i pulled the battery for 10 minutes and that didnt help

did you accidently disconnect something under the hood while you were installing the kit? double check all the connections.

some of the noises you hear my be normal. the intake will increase engine noise due to the lack of restriction that the stock intake had

check really close around the throttle body to make sure there is not a wire pinced or knocked loose.

my truck with a volant CAI makes a noticably different sound when I quickly accelerate or when I'm going 80 if I accelerate at all. if you're not getting a Check Engine light...there's nothing "wrong". you do need to make sure that there isn't a leak or anything around the seals.

i just checked everything again and made sure everything was tight, no wires pinched.

the noise isnt that big of an issue it just seems like the shifting is, it says in 1st or 2nd.

it doesnt get up to speed way quicker but goes up to around 4000RPM before i have to let off the gas to avoid a ticket
