Does anyone know if u can swap? I'd really like to have the center console instead of the seat that I have no use for. Btw it's an 08 f150

 

If you search the forum, you'll find a lot of information on it. I think I remember seeing someone doing a full write up on it somewhere around here...

 

There is really no need for a write up. It's 4 bolts out for the middle seat and same 4 bolts in for the middle console. I did the conversion and it was simple and easy.

Did a trade with another member who wanted a seat instead of the console.

 

Oh are there models with a center console still with a column shifter

 

Now I have to find one

You're looking for the XLT center console (check ebay and craiglist) if your want to keep your column shift:


You can also switch to console shift out of an FX2/4 or above, but you'll need a donor truck or someone close by to trade (very unlikely) for that to be feasible.

 

Alright I'm going to start calling some bone yards tomorrow, is difficult to switch to a console shifter?
