JBA Shorty Headers
There are some JBA headers going for 250$ in my area...they were used for dyno testing so they cant be sold for much and i guys trying to get rid of them...my current setup exhaust wise is all stock piping to a flowmaster super 44 si/do then out to 3.5 inch magnaflow ss tips...first of all is it worth it to get the headers and second would they bolt in right where the manifolds were? would there be labor to put them in and have them hook up to the factory y pipe?
A guy down here put some on his and said it was a PITA too...
He really didn't notice any difference in driveability except at higher rpms. It sounds a little deeper than before though. Don't know why. Good luck if you decide to get 'em.

i know i am considering some of the BANKS headers not fond of the 600 bucks though. for the extra 25 hp the 600 is steep but 250 i would do it. myself. it will take a few hours per side and require removing the inner fenders, starter to name a few things.
I did them on my v10 twice first time was some cheap ebay jobbies that leaked. the second time it was gibsons and they went on great and never leaked. took about 6 hours to do. i gained 1mpg and 40 hp . it was a PITA but i would do it again.

40 horses is over the top. Unless you have a blower or something of the sort you will be lucky to see ten more if that. My guess is that you have one of those Tornado nonsense ideas crammed in your intake tube too. What are those worth, 50 horsepower?
I put the headers you speak of on my truck about 2 years ago...and yes, it was a pain in the ***. If you dont have the directions, I can scan them and email them to you...if you decide to buy them.
You will notice a bit of difference starting around 3000 RPM. They allow the engine to breathe better at the higher RPM's but if you look at the dyno charts, you'll notice they drop off at about 5500. Now, are you really taking your trucks engine up that far? I dont, I have my programer set to shift in 1st gear at 5100 and thats the highest shift point of all the gears. After I did the install, I took it out and hammered it several different times just to get a seat of the pants feel...better breathing and it came on a little stronger at midrange...nice difference for me.
TiTanium Ceramic coating= $700.00...just make sure you put a straight edge across the flange and make sure they're straight and flat. If they aren't, take them to a machine shop and have them machined perfectly flat. I've installed several types of headers on several different cars (mine & friends) and not all are perfectly flat...do this, and you will eliminate alot of hedaches down the road....this and the heat cycling and retorquing required to seat them properly.
