Question IWE or more?

allright, good morning guys

Read up a lot lately about the IWE system and the problems people seem to have with it.
Grinding noise from the front and stuff.

I do have that grinding stuff that comes on at very random times, only happened three times so far, makes weirder noises if I break when the grinding noise is going on and truck feels funny... Then it goes away. And that was the last time it happened to me, haven't really driven it since.

I did lift the front up, wheels freewheel while vacuum is present, and if i disconnect the vacuum hose up by the solenoid I see the driving shaft turn with the wheel if I rotate the wheel. On both sides.

4x4H works. 4x4 Low works.

oh, And the truck do have that new style solenoid with rain cover.

Not really sure where to go next..

Thansk for having me!

I'd put money on the solenoid. Mine started doing the random grind about a week ago. When I pulled over I found both hubs engaged. Replaced the sol. and now both are free when in 2WD/ engine running.

Is the grinding more pronounced when you're accelerating or gassing on it? Vacuum goes down as rpms go up. This would point to the IWE or a vacuum leak somewhere.

I shall remember to step on it next time it comes on.

The first time it came on was on the highway. Let of the gas and after a bit it dissapered, came backe on for a few seconds then dissapered for the rest of the trip.
