Default iwe ? 2004

Can having one bad iwe cause noise from not just the bad side but the other side that was just replaced? I replaced the drivers side but the noise was still there. I checked the new one with a vacuum pump and it was ok. I checked the other and it will not hold pressure at all. But while the truck is running in the garage with the front end jacked up it seems ok. I assume it is providing pressure to the iwe til it runs out and creates that sound? I checked the vacuum lines and they all look good. Just wondering if my new iwe is bad already or if the other is causing the problem. Heading to stealership tomorrow morning anyways to go with a friend who got a new f150 . Thanks yall

Yes with one side bad and leaking it will cause lack of vacuum to the opposite side. The side that has the bad IWE wont disengage at all and the opposite side will not have enough vacuum to completely disengage causing the grinding noise.

should go ahead and upgrade to the new iwe solenoid (on firewall behind battery) if you havent already. new one has a hood on it to prevent water getting into the system. like 25 bucks from the dealer. if they tell you 50 they are pulling up the old one.

You were...mine took a hub with it. Fortunately (for me) the dealer took care of it under a used car warranty.
