Default It's never good!

Juts dropped my auto transmission pan and look what I've found!

I have no idea what it is. Please someone tell me what the heck is it and where it supposes to go?

TIA.

LOL!! That means your pan has never been dropped and that you are on your original fluid and filter. Its a "plug" installed by the factory to keep debris out of your transmission, when they install the dipstick, it pushes the plug down into the pan. It is totally normal, nothing to worry about, just toss it.

Kind of a dumb question.. I've been wanting to do this too to change my transmission oil and put some new in with a bit of lucas oil transmission fix to smooth the gear changes. I've read the write ups about how to do it but where exactly is the pan on the bottom to drop?

LOL! What a relieve! This Ford's 4-spd auto is giving me a stigma!

Thanks again.
